Putting an embedded YouTube video in your blog entry is a very simple thing to do, once you know how to do it.
I personally use Windows XP on this PC with the Internet Explorer web browser, so my intructions will be based upon how I do this. If you use another operating system or web browser, you should still be able to translate my instructions for your own use.
Embedding YouTube videos on Blogdrive is just a matter of knowing how to copy and paste, and then, where to do it.
Starting off, I suggest having two internet browser windows open. In the first is your Blogdrive entry editor and in the second is the YouTube page where the video you wish to embed is located. If you are not very familiar with YouTube, click on the small image above to see a screenshot of my example YouTube page.
YouTube is user-friendly enough to put the embed HTML code on each video page. You only need to left-click in the Embed space to highlight the HTML code. Then, right-click and select Copy. You're already half done, now.
The second step is to open up your Blogdrive entry editor window. By default, it will be in the WYSIWYG mode. So, click in the little checkbox on the bottom left that is labelled HTML View. All the iconically displayed functions of the entry editor will disappear at the top when you check HTML View.
Now that you are in HTML View, simply right-click and select Paste. The HTML code you copied from YouTube page is now in your draft entry and the video will be embedded in that entry, just like the embedded YouTube video in this entry. You've done it.
Some additional things to note
Click HTML View again (uncheck it) to toggle back to the WYSIWYG mode of the Blogdrive entry editor to continue writing up your entry. Don't panic because you don't see the video in the editor window. You will only see a place holder box. However, the video will be there (as long as YouTube servers are online) when you preview or publish your entry.
Personally, I like to center my embedded video. You can do this in HTML View by wrapping the embed code in a table or paragraph tag that is centered <align=center> or highlighting everything and using the "center selection" function in the WYSIWYG mode.
Keyboard commands for menu-driven mouse actions can also be used for Copy (ctrl+c) and Paste (ctrl+v) functions.
